WHAT IS IMPLAUSIBLY AVERAGE TV?
Implausibly Average TV (IATV) is a "brand" started by Josh Average (see right sidebar). Wanting to make the kind of videos he wanted to see, he started with small-scale projects like Gentle Carnage, a BeamNG.drive series crashing cars set to royalty-free music. From there, Josh tried his hands at Twitch streaming, finding a small niche when he would stream at 1am CST on weekday mornings. Through various changes in interests and real-life obligations, Josh Average now makes "your pet's favorite videos", something you can put on in the background for your animal companions.
After shuffling through various aesthetic identities, from PNGTubing to MST3K-style sci-fi, Implausibly Average TV has settled on a sort of television throwback style. Paying homage to various TV channels of his youth, Josh Average now attempts to style most videos as if they were on a fictional TV channel in an amalgamation of various inspirations from 90s-00s TV identities, with the biggest influences being Fox Family, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and Toonami.
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
We're always working on the next project, so here's what we are currently working on: (Accurate as of May 2026)
- DIVE INTO THE HEART: A Kingdom Hearts let's play series focused on playing all the Kingdom Hearts games in release order.
- SAVE CHECK: A series of one-off videos focused on showing small peeks at games Josh is playing in his free time.
- UNTITLED IATV PODCAST: A yet-unnamed monthly "video magazine" style podcast that will round up various writings and thoughts.
- SOLO RPG PODCAST: A yet-unnamed actual play podcast focused on solo TTRPGs.
WHAT HAVE YOU WORKED ON?
As with any labor of love that sees the scope spiral out of control, projects come and go. Here are some of the ones that Josh has stopped, but thinks fondly of.
- RADIO IAGP: The "emails segment" of a longer, nonexistent, podcast.
- TACKLE ALL OF POKEMON: A Pokemon let's play series, focused on playing every mainline pokemon game.
- EARTH-AP: An actual play podcast, featuring Darling Demon Eclipse and Mombun, set in an alternate DC Universe, that started using the World in Peril system before moving on to a custom-made superhero TTRPG developed by Josh.

WE CAN SUPPORT IMPLAUSIBLY AVERAGE TV?
Yeah! Implausibly Average TV is a labor of love, and it is not Josh Average's day job. This means that any money that comes into Implausibly Average TV goes directly into the brand. This means paying for this website, paying for Dropbox to host files for videos, and getting new games to play. The more support we get, the easier it is to play new games, try our new series, and make more cool stuff. And who knows, maybe if we get enough support, we could make Implausibly Average TV our full-time jobs!
To support Implausibly Average TV, the easiest thing to do is subscribe to us on YouTube and interact with our videos. Watch them, like them, comment on them, share them, it all helps. It costs nothing, and those things really expand our reach!
If you want to support us even more, that's where our Ko-Fi comes in. You can do one-time tips to us, something we advertise during our rare Twitch streams, or you could setup a recurring membership. Memberships start at $1/month and they provide you with access to exclusive updates, or even behind-the-scenes looks at things we're making.
And finally, the coolest way to show your support, is our Merch Store on Fourthwall. We've got stickers, shirts, and a mug. Every order comes with a bit of artwork that Josh Average made exclusively for merch orders. And, like... you get the cool logo he made. It's a cool logo!
WHAT'S THIS ABOUT LORE?
Josh Average, masked YouTuber, used to stream from home. Sometime around July 2022, while celebrating 3 years of Implausibly Average TV (then just called Implausibly Average), he drank a weird flavor of Mountain Dew (Moonshot), and woke up in an office building on The Moon. For years he was trapped up there, until 2024, when he found a space ship. He got stuck in one part of the ship on Decemberween 2024, only being freed once he played a game he'd never played on the YouTube channel before. The spaceship slowly made it's way back to Earth, and then one day Josh Average just... made it back. He's on Earth now! No more sci-fi nonsense! He's now located in small town Powerbomb Springs, TX and has taken over an abandoned TV station, where he broadcasts his videos, podcasts, and streams through Implausibly Average TV.
