Implausibly Average is all about providing the kinds of videos, podcasts, and writings we want to see. We’re all about doing things ourselves, supporting those we can, and uplifting the people we want to succeed.
Take, for example, the YouTube series TACKLE ALL OF POKEMON. We are trying to play every mainline Pokemon game in release order, with fun gimmicks and quirks along the way. We wanted to see a long-form Let’s Play series, dedicated to the huge task of playing an always-changing number of games. Why not be the change we wanted to see in the world, and make that series ourselves?
We’re always trying to throw stuff at the wall and figure out what works and what doesn’t. During March 2024, we had several Pilot Episodes that we tried out. We played Metal Gear Solid, Balatro, Yakuza, and more. Of those seven Pilot Episodes we put out, we had three become series! Metal Gear Solid started up our Weekend Shift Twitch series, where we play M-Rated games late at night in the style of a Toonami/Adult Swim block, with one of those games after Metal Gear Solid being Yakuza Kiwami. Balatro helped spin up the We Have The Runs series, where we play roguelike or run-based games for 10 episode seasons, getting as far as we possibly can in hour-long chunks. Not everything becomes a full series, but sometimes you just wanna put out what you can!

Josh Average (he/him) is the founder of Implausibly Average. He records the videos, edits the videos, makes the thumbnails, draws the art, threw together this website… and probably more things that we didn’t list! He’s way into wrestling, he loves Kingdom Hearts and Pokemon, and he probably loves Superman a little too much. He’s in school for a Radio-Television-Film degree. He has an undisclosed day job, but someday wants to make Implausibly Average his full-time gig.
